AustriaThe Sportwelt Amadé comprises eight holiday resorts dotted among the valleys of the Dachstein and Tauern mountains. With stunning scenery, breathtaking views and some of the best skiing in the world it is easy to see why Austria has become a favourite destination. Owing to the geography of the mountain ranges this is a snow-sure area. The Sportwelt Amadé also uses extensive snow making machines.

Altenmarkt-Zauchensee The picturesque town of Altenmarkt is situated at an elevation of 860 metres in the heart of the Salzburger Sportwelt. Zauchensee, a part of Altenmarkt, is located at 1,350 metres and offers beautiful views of Dachstein, Lackenkogel and the Tauern mountains. Visitors can explore the 150 km hiking trail network whilst taking in the stunning alpine meadows. Altenmarkt and Zauchensee offer activities such as mountain biking, hiking, fishing, golfing and dancing making it a paradise for sport enthusiasts, hikers and nature lovers. During the winter months visitors can enjoy the many ski schools, tobogganing, sleigh rides and skating.

St. Johann - Alpendorf The traditional town of St. Johann is located 55km south of Salzburg and has become famous for the scenic Liechtenstein gorge and its beautiful cathedral. The lively holiday resort boasts a wide range of hotels, inns, restaurants, cosy pubs and Austrian shops. Located just 3km from the centre of St. Johann is the hamlet of Alpendorf, which provides cutting edge sport and infant facilities. Alpendorf also provides the gateway to the "Skiverbund Amadé",Austria's largest linked ski area, comprising more than 870km of slopes. The Gernkogel gondola (1,787m) operates throughout the year and offers easy access to the fascinating mountains.

Radstadt The attractive, medieval town of Radstadt is nestled in the Radstadter Tauern Mountains, only 70km from the city of Salzburg. With its traditional and easy-going atmosphere, Radstadt has become a favourite tourist destination. With the Dachstein Mountains to the north and the Radstadter Tauern mountains to the south, Radstadt is the perfect starting point for numerous hiking tours on the well-maintained and marked hiking trails. Radstadt also offers the first stage of the 150km long Ennsradweg cycle path among its 100km of cycle paths. The town's character is defined by the hospitality and traditions such as folklore events, festivals, brass band concerts and old handcrafts. The family-friendly ski circuit of Radstadt-Altenmarkt offers a brand new 8-seat gondola to the Kemahdhohe and many ski schools, which cater for every level of skier.


Kleinarl
Located at the edge of the Hohe Tauern national park, the picturesque village of Kleinarl boasts amazing views of the mountain scenery. Although the village is at a high altitude (1,014 metres), the motorway is only a short drive connecting you to the festival town of Salzburg. The Kleinarl Mountain boasts "Bubble Runs" for the children, cosy mountain huts, a natural sled run of 6 km, a speed and world cup track and a borders park on the peak.

Eben im Pongau Situated in a central location within the Sportwelt Amadé, Eben offers a splendid base for outings and excursions to the many sights and attractions in the region such as the world's largest caves or the Tauernstrassen Museum. Eben offers its own ski lifts, ski school, sleigh rides and curling rink. The unspoiled nature and wide range of sports and leisure activities means you will never be bored! With over 80km of marked hiking trails leading to beautiful alpine pastures and mountain restaurants as well as riding stables, the Amadé bathing lake, mountain bike and cycle trails and tennis courts, Eben has an activity for everybody.

Filzmoos Nestling at the foot of the breathtaking Bischofsmutze Mountain, the scenic town of Filzmoos is surrounded by the mountain ranges. A wide range of activities is offered year-round such as hot air ballooning, sleigh rides, and cross country and downhill skiing in the winter with slopes going from the centre of the village. Summer activities include mountain biking, tennis; fly fishing, hiking, riding, paragliding and rafting.

Flachau With 865 km of pistes, 3 ski stations and 3 valleys, it is easy to see why Flachau is the number one holiday destination in the Sportwelt Amadé. It is home to the World Champion, Herman "The Herminator" Maier. There is an 8-man chairlift, which gives fast and easy access up the mountain. Using the latest snowmaking technology and meticulous piste preparation, Flachau has some of the best slopes in the area.



Wagrain Situated in the heart of the Salzburger Sportwelt at 850 metres, Wagrain is the perfect place to begin a fantastic tour. Wagrain also boast's the Amadé Water World, featuring an indoor pool with counter-current jets, a Jacuzzi, paddling pool, flume and a 50 metre water slide with light and sound effects.
